Lake Ontario and Mother Nature!

But, today was a story of a different nature .... it was a story all about Mother Nature!

We however, had a tired Mother Nature compared to areas in our country that dealt with her fast and furious power. For us, she provided a water show.

Today was NOT the day for a jaunt out to the end of the pier where fisherman normally try their hand  with a pole and bait.

In this area, a shelf provides protection to the shoreline, and also creates a run off for the waves that have been broken  by the wall, losing their punch before eroding the shore even further.

As I watched this display of power, and felt my fingers being so cold that I thought they would fall off, I was overwhelmed with the sound.

The 65 mph wind, the waves slamming into the cement wall .... it was all around me ... inside and out.

I felt small and pretty powerless. I felt like a toy.

The hills, trees, water ....

reminded me that  ..... well ..... nature is bigger and more powerful than I can even imagine.  I am here to appreciate, enjoy and respect ... it all!

Walking back to the car, a bridge provided us the avenue to enter a calmer and more peaceful area of the park.

It was grounding to encounter something that wasn't moving!

OK Mother Nature ... thanks for the show today! I love you!
