An unexpected viewpoint!

Bennington, Vermont
Sometimes I like things that mess with my head a little bit. Case in point.I'm walking through the front yard of the Bennington Pottery Factory and I see this large (about 5 - 6 feet across) cut out mirror in the shape of an artist palette. Reflecting in the mirror are the colored garden globes laying in the grass. It's somehow understandable, simple, complex, compelling,  and so darn creative.  I love it!

I love the opportunity to analyze, enjoy, accept something so interesting, and yet, it allows my mind to just drift. There's nothing more to think about.

It's Friday! Thank God!

And, I just need a quiet spot.
Ahhh .... the wonderful home of some new friends in Vermont!
Yup .... perfect!

                         Ahhhhhhh.

The best of both worlds ... Adirondacks and Vermont!

 STOP THE CAR!
OK, you want me to make sure there's not cars coming when I open the door?
Geez!

I have to capture this shot right now ... because, it might change!

And, I might not get this shot ....

.. and, this one,

.... and, this one ....

...or,  what about this one ....

or, this!

OMG, this one is so pretty too!

Whiiiish ..... ignore that car speeding by.

Standing in Vermont, looking at those Adirondack Mountains that I grew up in,  makes me breath a huge sigh.  Man, am I lucky!
The canvas of life, the palette board of color, the sounds, the smells .... the ability to be overwhelmed.

It's addicting!

Beginning and ending ... the day.

Geneva On the Lake, Geneva, NY

Such a welcome sight first thing in the morning. Doors open, fresh crisp air, steaming cup of coffee, and the quietness of the dawn made brighter with the distant songs of the birds.

And, the afternoon glimpse of the promised delights of the evening meal .... is a promise not to be forgotten.

It all comes full circle, as most things in life do.  It's a beginning and an end, with the glass half full ... only to begin afresh tomorrow.  Time to appreciate it all.

Some color for your day.

Good morning!

What would a day be like without color?
We have so much to be grateful for.

Next year, Zinnias might just find their way into my gardens.

The petunias certainly are a nice compliment.

But, the Zinnias stole the show!

Look for the color today .... and, feel its happiness.

Wanderings .... and thoughts.

Seventeen years ago, this lot had a newly built house and a few trees. After building the house, I had a vision and a dream of what the grounds could become.

The world is my palette .... that thought is a constant wandering through my mind. And, so the onslaught of the dirt and empty space began all those years ago.

Even today, there is still work to be done and new opportunities. The new shed provides a chance to re-structure and create something new. I love dirt!  It gets all my nerves stimulated.

Every brick, every garden, every tree ... was once a dream in my head that has found it's way out through my hands.

Each day that I have the privilege to work in the gardens  is a day of renewal. It's a happy day of self work that works its way out into an ever changing blaze of color and texture.

Once I step back, strip of my work gloves, and readjust the crick in my back ... my thoughts go to  .... how can I share this.

I see drivers-by look at the gardens. :-)

I have shared the gardens on HGTV (35,800 hits on my Rate My Space). In fact, they featured one of my shots on Facebook as a Sunday feature garden!

Now I get to share it on blog!  There are about 25 counties following me, almost 19,000 hits.

My hope is that what has been created, provides others with a few minutes of enjoyment.

My wish is that I could walk the gardens with you and tell you the stories of each garden, each plant ... it's a chapter book.

It will be forever changing, with new chapters being added .... authored by an ever changing person.
