Bridges and paths ...

Chimney Bluffs, Lake Ontario

                                                                It's similar but different.

Kent Park, Webster NY

                                                                  The purpose is the same.

Letchworth State Park, Mount Morris, NY

The journey to get to the other side can vary.

Rochester, NY
Saranac Lake, NY
Each step brings its own experience.

Geneva, NY

Rochester, NY

We all need to find our own way and that is life's journey.

Hobart ... I want to go back to college!

Walking the grounds of this beautiful college, made me reminisce of college days.  Watching the students, walking through the buildings holding classes, visiting the student union, the book store .... watching students gather to talk and study .... made me thursty ... thursty to go back and do it again!

What an exciting time! Would I do it differently?  Perhaps. But, I would want to take the brain I have now and take it to this setting.  Someday .... maybe I will go back and take courses to be what I want to be when I grow up!

Apples ... apples and more apples!

                                                                     Tis' our season!

From the beautiful, sweet apple blossoms in the spring,

... to the juicy wondrous off the tree fruit ...

rows and rows of nature's best .... lining the shores of Lake Ontario.

Our apple farmers have been hurt this year by the early warmth, the freezing of the buds and then our drought. Hats off to these hard working farmers and their dedication  and devotion  ... from their fields to our tables ... thank you!

Erie Canal Locks ... reminds me of the Lower Lake Locks

For those Saranac Lakers who are saying, "What is she thinking about!?", .... OK, .... OK

                                                                But, they are similar!

I so wanted to go start throwing the levers and letting the water rush in .... just as we use to do when the lock-tender wasn't on duty. I think it would be much like riding a bike ... once you have the hang of it, you never forget.

It would have been such a thrill to fill or in this case, lower the water to let these boats through!

I remember that feeling!  And, then the thrill of jumping back into the boat and taking off up through the channel. Such happy memories!   And, I also remember the day that big, black dock spider jumped in the boat from the lock dock. I was out of there!! Right into the water!

Macedon Park Aquaduct .....

Driving along the Erie Canal just east of Rochester NY, I was forced to make a U-turn and go back to explore this little park!

I couldn't help but be pulled in and around and my finger was happily clicking away. Lovely!

Fall flowers ....

There remains such beauty as we move from summer to fall. The Dahlias are still quite magnifiant.

And, the Mums speak for themselves ....

The Peppers are a cacophony of colors!

The beginning of a new season,
                                                                        new smells,
                                                                        new sounds,
new time to embrace Mother Nature's new coat of colors!

Stack 'em up!

I love all the new types of pumpkins .... along with the old.

They make the planters interesting.  Transitioning from one season to another brings a new "face" to what greets anyone who enters my home.

My goal - to let it be interesting and different.

                                                                        Welcome!
