Taughannock Falls ... another Finger Lakes Beauty!

So, did you know that Taughannock Falls is  33 ft taller than Niagara Falls? Bet you didn't! This 215 foot beauty is a short but beautiful  walk from the road. We started out by viewing the falls from the top. Then I found out there was a walk below  ... that's all i needed to know!

 

The lower walk was just full of great camera opportunities.  Over each mound and around each corner was another shot that had to be taken.

 

This is one of my favorite shots .... the color, the flow ...drawing us closer and closer ....

... to this magnificent flow of water over a rock formation  that shines with the most beautiful shades of ocher.

                                       I felt like I was watching a secret dance of water fairies.
                                                

My thoughts ... how is it that 215 ft of dropping water can make such minimal impact on the calm pool of water ... that just becons you forward to walk in it's glory.  Nature at her best!
