This little beach was so intersting. "Crash Boat Beach" is named that for a specific reason. Notice that the mortor boat is full throtal coming into the beach. The driver never lets up on the gas. That boat hit the beach at about 25 mph!
If you look beyond the umbrella, you will see a cloud of sand ... being created by the motors propeller as it grinds along the beach. I have NEVER seen anything like it! Can't imagine how long those motors last!
The breakers off the shore made a beautiful display with the waves crashing against it.
The fort is a very interesting museum of the history of defense. Built along the waterfront, you can see how it was erected to maximize the natural protection that the island provided. So much history.
The colors of Old San Juan are beautiful, the shops are interesting and the people are very friendly.
It's an island that combines the bustle of a small city with the quietness of the rural communities.
Water, mountains, wildlife .... its' a special corner of our country.
Nice post. It reminds me of my neighborhood in PR!
