Alaska .... magnificent ....

 .... flowers!

Who would guess that Alaska would be a gardeners paradise? Even years later, as I look at these photos, I can recall my awe of  flowers that  are double the size we see in the north east. Perhaps it's some special mix of Miracle Grow ... sign me up!

 

Even the statues are huge .... this guy being about as tall as I am!

But, can you resist a closer look at these colors and details?  Not me .... my zoom was was working overtime! I simply could not get enough ... and I am sparing you the full photo library!

 

Just in case you would question the validity of my memory, here is proof of warm Alaskian temperatures.  Yes, it was warmer in Farbanks than in Rochester, NY on that day.

The snapdragons were tall and beautiful.  How many of you were taught about the way you can make the Snapdragon open its mouth? I have passed the mystery to my granddaughter ... she wants to know if it can talk ....hummm ... maybe!

I haven't really lost my mind ... I know it's strange to include wine and beer but .... believe me, that wine and "Moose Drool" beer was a wonderful sight too!
