To walk on the aircraft carrier USS Midway and see these flags flying, your mind floods with thoughts of service people standing on the deck under her glory.

More tulips!
Must be the time of year ... am just craving flowers!
Walking through the fresh flower display today at my most favorite local florist .. Kittelberger Florist ... these tulips jumped out at me ...as did the vase! My brain insisted that they become one and find their way to my home.
Life is always good on a Saturday ; but, a Saturday with fresh tulips ... now that is heavenly!

Peony .... must mean beauty!
I feel very compelled to share a spot in my garden with you today! Despite the fact that it's the dead of winter and there isn't a delicate blossom in sight, these photos just jumped out at me tonight saying "share me"!
Perhaps to us gardeners, it's the potential things to come that is so exciting. As the weather warms and the sun is higher in the sky, I am quick to be out there looking for sprouts in the ground.
I hope you have enjoyed your journey through my garden in a season past. Smile and carry the vision with you!

A little bit of ....Puerto Rico!
This little beach was so intersting. "Crash Boat Beach" is named that for a specific reason. Notice that the mortor boat is full throtal coming into the beach. The driver never lets up on the gas. That boat hit the beach at about 25 mph!
If you look beyond the umbrella, you will see a cloud of sand ... being created by the motors propeller as it grinds along the beach. I have NEVER seen anything like it! Can't imagine how long those motors last!
The breakers off the shore made a beautiful display with the waves crashing against it.
The fort is a very interesting museum of the history of defense. Built along the waterfront, you can see how it was erected to maximize the natural protection that the island provided. So much history.
The colors of Old San Juan are beautiful, the shops are interesting and the people are very friendly.
It's an island that combines the bustle of a small city with the quietness of the rural communities.
Water, mountains, wildlife .... its' a special corner of our country.
