Oregon and the Columbia River.


Way off in the distance is Mt. Rainer. Regardless of where you view this mountain, it's HUGE!


I included this 18 wheeler just to give some perspective to that picture ... the landscape is so vast.


And this distant mountain is Mt Hood. 


Seems like you can see forever when coming across to the Columbia River.




This is our first glimpse of this amazing river .... meandering its way along.


We saw ... barges ...  and trains .... and bridges.....





...to great panoramic shots of this river.



Traveling in the fall,  the golden brown colors against the deep evergreens was beautiful and created an even greater dimension to the views.


And then we found the beautiful waterfalls. 



I loved what I viewed as the uniqueness  of Oregon.  Combine that with Portland  .... it's a trip I am glad I made.
