Lake Placid, New York .........

... it's another jewel in the Adirondacks.

 Yesterday was about Saranac Lake and its Winter Carnival .... such a wonderful community! Today it's about its neighbor .... Lake Placid.

Here's another village that should be on your list.  Step out of your car and you will feel the draw of this little community. 

Make sure you look around and catch all the little details that make Lake Placid.

                                  The mountains and lakes ....and, people are using them all.

  
 











Whiteface Mountain .... is one mountain that will push you ...it welcomes you with flags ... it lures you up the mountain  and then, it tests you.



 

 Walking through the village, checking out all the little shops, you can hear the dogs that want to get their work on!  They are ready for you to plop down in the sled, curl up in the blankets and be  ...off!!!

 

 And, while you are "off", check out all that is going on around the lake ... hockey, skating, tobogganing, cross country skiing and just walking!

The ice is yet another arena to to play"in".

And, as the sun sets and the mountains give their last glow, the lights of the village turn on ... and you know you are alive .... and happy to be in the mountains!
