Honeymoon Island

Lower Saranac

As the story was shared .... this piece of heaven was built so a couple could go there on their honeymoon. Sixty years later (or maybe more) the island is as beautiful, if not more beautiful than its original state.

And, now it has a depth of many memories, gatherings, parties and lives ... which have crossed its shore. Not far by boat from Frying Pan Rock, we use to sit on the rock, watching the boaters pass through.  I don't know that 45 years ago, we could anticipate what all this would mean to us.

But now, in retrospect, it's clear what all this means, what it is in our memories and how lucky all of us are that grew up in Saranac Lake, NY
