Puget Sound .... for real this time!

OK, now that I am back at my computer and not trying to do this through my iphone, I WILL have success and hopefully you will enjoy the tour!  For those of you who visited yesterday, my apologies!

If you make it to Seattle, Washington, hop on a tour boat for a cruise of the Sound and the waterways. I promise you that you won't be disappointed!
Shipping yards certainly make up a portion of the shoreline.

As the tour boat pulls away from the shore and you take a look back ... look up, up, up.  That "thing" in the clouds is Mt. Rainer!

It is hard to believe the size of that mountain!

What a beautiful backdrop. It still gives me goose bumps to see it ... even in my picture.

Next, we enter the waterway ... passing through a set of locks .... complete with jumping fish.

We pass by residential sections of Seatlle ....

... dry docks for ship repair .....
... old factory sites turned into parks ....
.... and then the most intersting section of all ... the boat houses! For anyone who has seen the movie  "Sleepless in Seattle", you'll recognize this particular boathouse!!!!!

Seattle is a lovely, friendly, beautiful and interesting city.  Puget Sound just adds to the allure!
                                                     Hope you enjoyed!

A touch of Spring ....

Can anyone possibly ignore the beauty of tulips?  To me, it represents life, rejuvenation, future promises ... especially when I look out the window at the beautiful blanket of snow.

This is without a doubt, my favorite container for tulips.  Before a tulip even hits my counter top, I reach for this deep blue stein. Now combine it with the sunlight flooding in my kitchen window and it's one beautiful combination!

.

Each year, a new favorite winter figurine graces my home for a full year. This snowman lasted all last year ... and might just last all this year too! I love the detail and shadows playing off the composition.

I expect that soon enough, we will have more winter; but, with the beauty of these tulips warming my kitchen, I think I can make it through.

I hope that you have enjoyed a few moments of the beauty of the tulip ... from my house to yours ....enjoy!

A little more Santa Fe ....

... because one blog isn't enough!

As the legend goes, the beautiful blue green doors and windowframes are painted this way to ward of evil and witchcraft. That may well be the case, but to me, it said, "Welcome - please come through my door" and "Come close and experience the beautiful flowers adorning my window box".

Reflection of a doorway in an outside mirror

Canyon Rd. is whimsical, mystical .. like a step into the Wizard of Oz!

It's fun and uplifting.  It's a step out of conservative and a journey into free thought and the unexpected!

All the while, it's inviting and enchanting.

I love the lore, love the spirit, love what it does to my brain in the quest for creativity and stepping outside the "norm".

Even gathering your mail must be exciting! Wonder if anyone has thought to paint and decorate the inside of their mailbox! I was tempted to look!

Special moments ...

... special people....time together .. created a small gift of thoughts.

All photos from Asheville, North Carolina

I received a gift today .. time with friends .. whose souls are full.... whose lives are full ... who embrace life in its glory and hardship.  To sit with you brings greater depth to this journey called my life.

The depth and dimension of the moment is brought to reality ... through the perspective of each individual.

Layers of texture build the vision.

Life is a contrast of .......

.. softness and hardness, warm and cold, color and lack of color, emotion and lack of emotion...

.. yet those contrasts bring an appreciation .... of what is.

To have the privilege to walk the staircase of life with friends .... is comforting.

Life has many beautiful dimensions ... open your arms and welcome it in. The revelation is the most special gift of all.  I am glad my arms are wide open!

Alpacas ... can only be described as ... ....

I mean really ...... you can resist these adorable guys?

Not me, I want to take them home. I want to take care of them. I want to get to know them!

Every sweater in my closet  should be made from their soft, luscious coats.

                                                                  I want them to talk!

By the look in this guys eyes, I have to think he's an " old soul".  What do you think? I really think there is a story to be told!
