I would like to have the distinct pleasure of giving you a tour of this beautifully redone 1790 home. OK, I was only renting this home but I loved it like my own.
I knew right away when I saw the tool bar that this was going to be a visit that would grace us with story on top of story on top of story.
The farm house property had several cottages, all with distinct personalities. Let me guide you around the main house property.
Are you starting to get a feel for it? Nice. Right?!
Now it's time to meet the fine feathered friends who graciously provided us with the most delicious eggs for breakfast! Well, the beauty with the red head didn't give us any eggs but the rest did. ;)
We travel from the farm house, down a long dirt road .... to ... this! Home sweet home .. at least for several days!
Follow me ...into the 1790 Peddler's Home!
I'm so excited to show you everything; but, I am going to make you wait a little longer. I'll tease you with some views.
I'm taking you back outside to the front porch. There is so much to look at!
Hang on. Before we go back up to the farmhouse and explore a little more, look at these gorgeous eggs! OK, let's go.
A little more shed .... a little more chickens ....
Thanks for all your hard work ladies!
Love your little home gals!
Oh! And there was a baby calf .... being hand fed by Alicia. Shy baby.
Of course, no farm is complete without the special welcoming committee!
But now it's time to go back to the Peddler's House and let you really get to see it.
OK ... just a few words. The wood around the door is from the original outside of the house. And check out the worn flooring as you pass thru the door.
How about the original front door! It doesn't even meet the floor. (Current age storm doors to the rescue!)
I debated about this bathroom picture but I have to tell you a story. See those 2 bent nails coming out of the wood over the door? Again, this was an outside wall and those nails were outside to hang things on. So good that Tom and Alicia kept them!
The back deck gave us much time to relax and breath it all in. But ... listen ... the brook is calling us to come visit.
It's a lovely trail ....
Back up the hill we climb, only to enjoy the house a little more.
Go wander a little more, I'll catch up with you in a bit.
But, before you go, look at the painting over the mantel in the dining room.
Thank you Alicia and Tom .. for spending time with us and sharing your labor of love!
