OMG - Look what I found today!
All you Saranac Lakers from the 60's & 70's just had a smile come across your faces!
For those of you not from Saranac Lake, here's the story. Nestled into the center of town, overlooking the river, was this beautiful small, European looking, stucco building that housed Temmings jewelry store. One of the "right of passage" when growing up in Saranac Lake was to be old enough to have one of these ID bracelets. Once you had one, you just knew life was good!
Then ...... should you be lucky enough to have a boyfriend, guess who got to wear the bracelet!
I look back on those times, with a smile and a warm heart. Another little bit of Saranac lake to love forever!

Working like there's no tomorrow!
I have to tell the story .......
That playhouse was a target Thanksgiving Day. This little grandson was checking out every corner of the structure to see what just might be worthy of his time and attention! The roof was clearly in focus for him and after a thorough inspection, he was all about the task at hand! Every roof can benefit from a good chalking!
So, while he's set about making a difference, there's a granddaughter who has zeroed in on the flower box! (Check out the view of the window in the pictures above.) Never mind that it will snow the next day, this pile of dirt and and silk flowers needs her attention!
So, come the day after Thanksgiving and the weather turning colder, the roof is chalked and so is the front door! But you know, it all has to be finalized with brooms and that chair really NEEDS to be washed down!
Hours and hours and hours of fun, creativity and self motivation. Not one single advice asked for or rendered by an adult. It was all just good hard dedicated work! And, boy were they ever quiet!
I have first dibs on hiring this crew when they are old enough!

Well ... It let me load this picture ... yum!
Getting ready for Thanksgiving and the house to fill with adults and children. What could be more wonderful?! I know the answer .... I'm gluten free! Yup, I lost out on this one!
Good - bye for now .....
Apparently, I am out of space with my blog. I can either pay monthly or be done. I am going to check out other options and see what might be available. Wish me luck! Send me suggestions!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Child in a basket!
Got to love the creativity of a 4 1/2 year old. Let's see, I must be able to fit in a 2 ft, by 2 ft, by 1 ft basket.
I think I'll just camp out here with a blanket because I want to be close to my family after a great Sunday afternoon meal!
Yup, love my life!

Clinging ...
As fall closes and the sky takes on that attitude of "just don't mess with me", there are a few diehards that keep resisting the inevitable.
And then there are some resistors that a full of optimism of things to come.

Fruits of Fall!
It's about the gifts of Fall!
Wandering around my yard, I found the the simple gifts of nature. They where mine for the taking; but, other than clicking my camera shutter, I am leaving them for the deer that seem to find pleasure in their taste.

Hydrangea Tree ...
One of my favorites in my yard. I love its grace.
Even as it enters its winter state, its beauty transforms.

#365
Mission accomplished!!
One year of posting my blog... uninterrupted for 365 days!
When I look back to the first blog, I feel like I have run a marathon ...
.... and fine tuned my gait.
I don't think I'm done yet.
I still have much to learn!
