Monet inspiration!

Zipping along in the car ..... whoops!  What was that?!

A quick turn into a little dirt shoulder  of the road ....

and look at this .... look at that beautiful blue ... green ....pink .....white ...

                                                      mixed together  ... or singled out ....

The reflection is exact ...

Love the color, love the randomness, love the inspiration ..... time to bring out my oils and canvas.  Move over Monet ... here I come!

Right place at the right time .....

Driving along the coast, heading back to Kennebunkport, Maine, I caught a glimpse of these sails.

Trying not to cause an accident, while struggling to find a pull off on the narrow, twisting road, I found someone's empty driveway (thank you very much!).

                                                                Such beauty ......

                                                           ... Such grace .......

Must have been a beautiful ride from their perspective too.  The houses along this stretch were ....to dream of.           So glad I caught these few moments.

Sunrise ... Lake Placid, NY

As I went to bed, I mentally told myself .... get up with the sun!!  Make sure you take advantage of the sunrise, the moon and the mountains. I am so glad that I listened to myself!!

Adornments on a seaport cottage ......

   On another afternoon tour of the side streets in Kennebunkport, Maine, I noticed this lovely little grey cottage, nestled into a little spot that somewhat hid the jewels that graced it's entrance.

Although it was hidden, my camera's viewfinder was soon filled with images that captivated my mind.

         All I can say is, I don't know what made me turn around and look backwards on our walk .... but this is what was "calling " me!  Beautiful doesn't even seem to sum it up!

Such a find!

We were walking along Kennebunkport Beach and I noticed a beautiful display of what was left on the wild rose bush after the roses died back.  These seed pods might be more beautiful than the actual rose.

The temptation to touch this beautiful display was just too much to resist; and, certainly wasn't a disappointment. The color was to die for. And, the softness was like touching cashmere.

On my second trip by this beautiful display, I happened to catch a finch pulling the pod apart and taking it back to what I can only imagine to be the ultimate in bird nests!

Lucky for that rose bush, my desire to clip and run ( with a display for myself) was curtailed by the long thorns that sent the message ... don't you dare! Like I said .... such a find!

A moment of reflection ......

Cool colors of Rockport, Massachusetts!

 

You know that I love color .....

While walking down the main street in Rockport, some snippets of color caught my eye.  Given that I was then out of control of my destiny, I meandered through some parked cars and found the edge of the retaining wall and snapped the rainbow of color. So alive, so invigorating ..... so ......full of beautiful color! I wish there could have been a group of people taking them out to the bay ... now that would have been a cool shot, worth waiting for. Guess that one has to be left for a dream.

What colors! What variety!

The beautiful colors of the Maine Stay Inn and Cottages in Kennebunkport, Maine are plain and simply .... excitingly beautiful!

Then there are the chairs at Earth, at Hidden Pond, also in Kennebunkport! (Oh my, what a place to spend my birthday dinner - more about this later!)

 A boutique deck designed ti lighten the load off all those bag carrying guys ...... a rare moment of empty chairs in Kennebunkport.

I want them all!  Hummm ..... might be a great winter project ... especially those Maine Stay ones!

Saranac lake ... and the Carousel!!

All that I can say is ..... WOW!  Saranac Lake folks .... what a beautiful piece to have in our beautiful little Adirondack town.  I love it!  And, seeing the expressions on the children waiting in line to get on the ride, so do they!

I'm warning you that there are lots of photos .... I simply couldn't delete any of them!

 I had a hard time capturing the scenic photos on the upper side of the carousel ... it was quickly spinning; and, I was quickly firing my camera!

 

You guys have a gem!  Can't wait to return .... perhaps with some grandchildren in tow!
