The older I get, the more I appreciate my girl friends.

It's wonderful to have someone who "gets it"!

Undressed and half dressed.

I'm getting ready for the celebration.

I'm standing tall, my branches are shaped and  it's all about the anticipation now.

I'm sparkling and twinkling  and ready for my jewels.

I''m really quite beautiful just as I am but there's magic coming.

Perhaps tomorrow, I'll get totally dressed!

Lights on the mantel!

I love doing my mantel!

It's one more excuse to create something different.

To scrounge through things and just go with my gut.

And, if I don't like it, I change it.

This year is a new look.

It's sparkly and glittery  ...

and whimsical.

I'm really liking the outcome.

Somehow, I smile as I walk by ... or sit and let its "mood" wander through me.

It's the beginning of my holiday fantasy.

Falling in love ....

I fell hopelessly in love this past weekend.

For years and years, I have passed by the entrance to Wanakena, NY  and kept thinking ... someday I am going to turn off this main road and check out the Forestry School. . Come to find out, there is a very small and quiet area with homes on the lake and this lovely little college.

I need to take myself there on a retreat. There is nothing but nature and peace and silence. It's spiritual.

 

As you can see, I kept taking the same picture, with little changes. I was drawn to its peacefulness and felt at one with the world. What an addicting moment.

Yes, I think that may be it. Life is like a tree. Trees grow from seeds, are saplings, mature and in most cases, become magnificent exhibits of their journey.

The twists and turns of the branches add such interest with a magnificent display of their foliage at the end. 

 

It's all about their inner core and their depth and texture.

  They say that dogs look like their owner.  

I think that I want to look like a tree. 

This would be my choice!
