Cape May, New Jersey

If you haven"t been, this is a must do!  Quintessential Cape May ..... Victorian inns, horse drawn carriages, English gardens and porches .... a step back in time.

Queen Victoria Inn

Each Inn has it's own color scheme and allure. Pass one inn and the next is equally as charming.

Whether on foot, bike or in a car .... the danger is staying focused on your mode of transportation.  So far, I've managed to trip numerous times as my eyes are NEVER on where I am walking but rather what is happening with the houses and yards.

It's like a rock concert or color and texture and enchantment!

Although I have only been inside the Queen Victoria Inn (where we always stay), my imagine runs wild in thinking about the interior of each house I pass.

Wonder if anyone would mind if I just go sit on their porch and enjoy the splendor?

Condo living!

I'm not sure if these bird houses are going to take off and fly around the sanctuary, start emitting some weird colorful ray of light off those antenna on the roof, or whether these types of birds requested ultra modern, utilitarian condos to call home!

Whatever the case may be, these bird houses were beyond busy.  Located at the base of the lighthouse at Cape May, New Jersey, this sanctuary certainly had my attention.  More to come in the days ahead.

Check out those gourd like birdhouses at the base!   These guys are on the cutting edge!

Rows ....

.. and rows, and rows of apple trees!

Although these pictures are from several weeks ago, I keep coming back to them.

Perhaps it's that lovely spring green color, or the yellow/green/white combination.

Or the fact that the rows lead me to water.

I think I feel the tug of the Lake Ontario Sierens!

But, before I get to the water, I have to dream about all those luscious apples to come in the fall.
So much to think about in such a simple lovely scene!

What's it all about ....

If you have the chance .... watch a child.

Their observance of the world and its detail is a skill we should never lose.

Even with a totally engaging conversation with her Nana about fairies, she noticed a leaf ...

 ... with a lady bug ....

... and her world got a little more detailed.

Such a beautiful moment. Glad I was in the moment with her.

Dinner guests ....

So .... working in my garden, I noticed some movement under the ornamental grasses.
Hummm ... better check this out a little further.

Well then ... my dinner guests (completely self invited!) are only about 3 inches long!

There were three guests and they sure were cute.

They aren't even shy.

Sure wish they wouldn't develop such a ravenous appetite when visiting my yard!

I'm betting this is Mama, lounging in the grass.

She's a bit more hesitant when I approach her and rightfully so if she saw the near miss earlier.

Want the story?
I'm mowing my lawn, on my sit down mower.  LUCKILY, I happened to glance just in front of the mower and noticed this little head peaking out of the grass. Have you ever seen someone whip their mower in another direction so fast that they are nearly on two wheels? It must have been pretty comical to watch. OMG, not on my watch ... you guys are not meeting a demise on my watch!  Rest assured, that mower was in slow motion for the rest of the night and all three little bunnies were happy lounging in the garden.  I'm directing them to my weeds! Bon appetite!

A canapy ...

... of apple blossoms.
Yet another "Wonder of Rochester".

A drive along Lake Rd, on the southern side of Lake Ontario
is
delightful!

To experience the beauty of the apple blossom "parade"
is
wonderful!

is
exciting!

I can't help but want to get out of my car and start walking ...
down the path ....
and take it all in.

It's  .... simple ....beautiful.

36 years ....

There was a reason for my visit to this office space today ... although the original reason escapes my mind.
As I rounded the corner, there was this most magnificent display of roses.

 36roses for 36 years

You know me ... hang on ... let me get my phone!

Snap, snap, snap .....

Lucky lady!  Happy guy! Happy Anniversary!

May you make 50 years!  And, may I still be able to push the shutter button!
Simply can't wait!
