Going shopping!

  Not because I am getting older; but, my back is bothering me today, I sure am glad that it's not 100 years ago that I am shopping for some medicine!!

              
                                                             I love shopping in the past!

A bear of a week!

                                           Yup, some weeks are more of a bear than others.

                                         And, sometimes you have to "ram" your way through.

And, then there are times that you just wish that you were a big ol' moose that could  rely on size and antlers to say ... come on, mess with me!

 

                                                                         Thank God it's Friday!

A second career!

                                               First careers are normally very purposeful.

                                     Second careers take all the wisdom from the  first go round,
                                               

                                         to create something truly brilliant in the second go round.

                                                  causing people to stop and say ......wow!

                                          Certainly gives a great perspective to the word "retirement"!

                ... at least that is what my Grand-daughter has named her!

So lucky!

All I could capture was pre- storm pictures. Darkness surrounded us as "Sandy" banged on the door.  5:30 PM - some rain and wind.

               Twenty minutes later and a few miles up the road, "Sandy" was saying Heeeellllloooo!

             I couldn't hold the camera steady so each frame is reflecting the pounding wind.

                               These 2 feet waves turned into 12 foot waves around 8 PM.

                 Lots of folks were doing the same thing as me; but, I camped out behind a tree.

The fisherman were having great luck! The water was swirling and the fish were biting like crazy.  Every one of the 5 fisherman were pulling out a catch one after another.

Not sure but maybe it's a trout?

By 6 AM this morning, it was a different sky. Although there were still winds, they weren't 70 mph.

As I drove into work, crossing the Bay Bridge, a small section of silver gray clouds parted, the translucent sun rays came through and the widest, most beautiful rainbow sat beneath the opening. A message? I like to think so.

Angels watching over us.....

                    ..... may we all ride out this huge and dangerous storm. Everyone remain safe.

The coast of New Jersey ..... Irene ... Sandy

This was cape May last September just after Irene passed through.  Tonight they are getting hit hard as is a whole wide swath of people. Even we are bracing.  Mother Nature is in one wild frenzy!

Hope these pretty ladies are tough ol' broads!
